Joint Injections

Joint treatments aims to reduce joint pain, inflammation and improve function.

Treatment options:
Corticosteroid or Platelet-Rich Plasma

PLEASE NOTE - we do not offer ultrasound guided injections

Areas of Treatment

• Knee
• Ankle
• Foot - including Morton's Neuroma, Intermetatarsal (between toes)
• Shoulder
- Subacromial (rotator cuff issues, subacromial bursitis)
- Glenohumeral joint (suitable for frozen shoulder)
• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
• Base of thumb (1st CMC joint)
• De Quervain's Tenosynovitis
• Trigger Finger / Thumb
• Greater Trochanter Bursa

Please note – spinal assessment and / or injections are not offered

Joint Injection not suitable in the following circumstances:
  • Current infection
  • Currently taking antibiotics (does not apply to long-term antibiotics)
  • Vaccine within the last 2 weeks or planned within next 2 weeks
  • On chemotherapy or had within the last 6 months
  • We do not offer injections into joint replacements
  • Recent fracture of joint involved
  • Symptoms less than 4 weeks
  • Injection in the same joint within the last 2 months
  • We do not offer injections under 18 years of age

Following consultation, a treatment plan will be discussed and treatment carried out on the same day if appropriate.
